As your children enter the Summer term, we begin with learning about rivers, locally and globally.
After half term we go back in time to Ancient Greece to learn all about daily life at that time, beginning of the Olympics, myths and legends and Gods and Goddesses. |

Week B Monday: Yellow spelling book brought in, old words tested, new words given out. Tuesday: Maths and English homework marked and new handed out. Wednesday: PE for both classes – come to school in PE Kit. Thursday: PE for both classes – come to school in PE Kit. Friday: Celebration worship. Please can your child bring in a named Pritt stick to add to their new pencil cases at school – it will really help them to be ready for each lesson. Please encourage your children to practise their times table on times table rockstars. There is a new battle this week! |

LC: To write a diary entry as Finn. The children will be continuing on from their prior learning and utilising the features of a diary entry to write as Finn. LC: To edit and improve my writing. The children will be looking back over their diary entry and seeing how they can make adjustments and improvements to their work. LC: To explore themes in the text. Looking at our text, the children will be identifying the themes which are present, understanding why they are important and finding evidence to support. Money
LQ: How do you subtract amounts of money that are given in pounds and pence? Children will be converting between pounds and pence to subtract different amounts of money. LQ: How do you find change from a given coin or note? Building upon their learning children will be understanding how to give the correct amount of change. Time LQ: How do you tell and write the time to the nearest minute past? Children will be reading the clock and looking at minutes past and expressing how many minutes have gone by since the last o’clock time. LQ: How do you tell and write the time to the nearest minute past and to? Building upon the prior lesson, children will be looking at how many minutes there are until the next hour. LQ: How do you estimate and compare the duration of events and tasks? Children will be exploring the concept of time and how long something might take e.g. tying shoes – one minute, watching a TV show – 30 minutes. |

LC: To understand which conditions we could change to investigate the growth of a plant. The children will be exploring how to conduct a fair investigation and what variables they will change. They will be focussing on what a plant needs to grow. |

LC: To produce a collaborative piece of Marc Martin inspired art. The children will each be creating an individual piece of an Art work produced by Marc Martin and as a whole class they will produce a completed product. |

LC: To create questions with yes/no answers. Children will investigate yes/no answers and then make up a yes/no question about a collection of objects and understand how objects can be separated by one attribute. |

Applying different take-off techniques when jumping. Throwing different equipment. Recording distances and times. Rounders Understand how the rounders bases work and begin to use these rules to score points and manage the game. Understand the role of the batter and backstop. Choose when to use overarm and underarm skills effectively. Field with accuracy to limit a batter’s score. OAA (Outdoor Adventurous Activities and team building) Children will continue to develop trust, teamwork and effective communication whilst problem-solving. Listening to others and following instructions. Identify and draw simple objects, follow a simple map, draw routes and navigate around a grid. |
