Learning Link: Once upon a TombAs your children enter the Spring term, they will step back in time as we delve into the fascinating world of the Ancient Egyptians. The children will have a wonderful opportunity to become fully immersed in our topic this term. The children will be finding out about daily life in Ancient Egypt, mummification; tombs and so much more! |

Year Group reminders |
Week Commencing: 9th March 2026 Week A Monday: Spellings - old ones tested and new ones given out. Science Fair project deadline. Tuesday: Maths and English homework marked and handed out. Wednesday: Year 3 PE - please come in PE kit. Thursday: PE for 3M - please come in PE kit. Friday: 13th March INSET day - school is closed.
Cold weather: Please can you send children into school with coats to wear during break, lunch and PE Lessons. Base layers for sports are appropriate on PE days and ideally would be Navy blue in colour. School tracksuit trousers are to be worn in the winter to replace PE shorts.

Reminders: Please ensure your child has a named glue stick. We will be spot checking children’s uniforms, please make sure they are named as well as water bottles and snack boxes. |
Homework |
Maths and English homework will be set on a Tuesday and due on the following Tuesday. Please can children complete Spring Term Workout 10 in their CGP Maths and English books - due on Tuesday 17th March TTRockstars please encourage your children to practise their times tables. There is a new battle this week between classes! Battle it out Year 3 but we could also win the trophy against the whole school! Spellings set on Monday 9th March and due on the following Monday 16th March. |

Desert to Garden The children will be learning about how Catholics gather to celebrate Mass and we gather to listen to the words of the holy scripture and meet Jesus in Holy Communion. |

PE |
Gymnastics Explore making their body tense, relaxed, stretched and curled. Can they explore different ways of stretching, balancing, rolling, and travelling. Remember, repeat and link combinations of gymnastic actions, body shapes and balances with control and precisions. Create a sequence with a partner. OAA (Outdoor Adventurous Activities and team building) Children will continue to develop trust, teamwork and effective communication whilst problem-solving. Listening to others and following instructions. Identify and draw simple objects, follow a simple map, draw routes and navigate around a grid. Tennis Develop racket control and use of forehand play. Use Forehand to control the ball and take part in a rally. Discover basic rules and scoring. Work with others to self-manage a game. |
