Home Learning |
Summer learning Summer holidays are a special time for children to rest, explore, and enjoy new adventures. But during the long break, it is easy for some learning to slip away especially in key areas like number skills, phonics, and those all-important tricky words! The good news is that keeping these skills fresh does not need to feel like learning. Counting games, fun number challenges, spotting tricky words in signs or stories, and playing with phonics sounds in everyday conversations can make a big difference. Just a little bit of playful practice can help your child return to school feeling confident, curious, and ready for Year 1. Please see below way that can support you with this. Phonics Please keep going over the trigraphs (3-letter sounds) that we have taught, along with all of the Tricky Words. Please see the link below for support. Flash Academy - EAL Every school holiday, many pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) risk losing some of the progress they have made with their English language learning. To help, Flash Academy created a motivating EAL holiday challenge that gives families simple ways to keep using and practising English together at home during the break. The EAL school holiday challenge is designed for parents and carers to use with their child. It is a printable activity grid packed with fun, informal ideas that support everyday English language use. From watching a cartoon or film with subtitles to using the FlashAcademy® object translator around the home, each activity encourages meaningful language use without feeling like homework. Please see the link below to access this resource. https://flashacademy.com/free-resources/eal-holiday-challenge/
School Jam Please continue to access this wonderful number resource with your child over the holiday. Collins eBooks Please continue to access our reading scheme online throughout the summer. These have been updated. |
