Summer Reading Challenge

Our local library staff have been telling the children how to take part in Mischief Makers, this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.

All the children need to do is register at their local Surrey Library and read 6 library books and visit the library regularly over the holidays, collecting stickers and incentives along the way.

Children’s reading can ‘dip’ during the holidays if they don’t have regular access to books and encouragement to read for pleasure. There is no other free reading activity that involves so many children, introduces families to their library, encourages children to choose books freely and independently and is endorsed by parents, teachers and the Department for Education.

Please encourage your children to visit the library and sign up over the holidays and see the difference the summer reading challenge makes for them.
