Parish and Diocesan Links

Our school community is a part of the Catholic Parish of Guildford. Our closest Church is St Pius X on Laustan Close in Merrow – just a short walk away from our site.

Each term we share a school and family Mass at St Pius X on a Sunday and really enjoy this opportunity to help lead the Parish Mass on these special occasions. Across the year every year group attends the weekday Mass at St Pius X, particiapting fully in the Mass.

The priests from the Parish – particularly Father Roy – are regular visitors to the school and help us in our RE learning as well as leading school Masses at least once a term.

We try to be as involved as we can in the life of our wonderful Parish and encourage our children in the holy sacraments – especially, of course, in the journey to First Holy Communion and Reconciliation. Many of our children are involved in the various Parish youth groups and many serve as Altar Servers at the churches within the Parish.

The Guildford Parish forms part of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, led by Bishop Richard. The Bishop has been a welcome guest at St Thomas and we always attend the annual Diocesan Good Shepherd celebration, usually held at Worth Abbey in June each year. This is a spoecial occasion when we come together with schools from right across the Diocese to celebrate our faith together.
