Year 6
Year 6 at Sayers Croft 2022
Monday
There was huge excitement this morning as the Year 6s set off for Sayers Croft. The first job was bed making and then time to relax before lunch! – Jacket potatoes, various fillings, salad and yogurts.
The afternoon activities included archery and compass reading, tracking through the woods.
Everyone is happy and everyone is well!
More photos will appear over the course of the residential so watch this space!
Dinner was a chicken and leek pie (apparently without the pie element!) and lots of potatoes and veg and then apple crumble and custard! Everyone was happy! After dinner Mr Lewin arrived for hot chocolate before heading off to the camp fire which involved more food – this time marshmallows – and then time for field games and lots of laughter before it was bed time. Everyone is quiet now so fingers crossed!
Some great activities today including caving, low ropes and team building problem solving. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
Lots more pictures from this evening on the camera but the card reader is still in Mr Lewin’s computer at school so apologies – they will come later!
Tuesday
The children slept well last night and we woke up to gorgeous sunshine and a hearty breakfast. The activities today have included caving (such fun and lots of fears overcome!), problem solving, orienteering, team challenges, shelter building and a living history session around World War II. It was great to welcome friends for the day and they certainly had fun.
Burgers for lunch and bolognese tonight with jam sponge pudding (heaven!).
Evening activities about to begin after a warming hot chocolate – blind trails, mazes and games and bat detecting – marvellous. I am certain everyone will sleep long and well tonight! (Let’s hope so!).
