Home Learning during the school Closure

Learning at home in Year 2

Whilst we are at home and not at school for our learning, you will find some good learning activities on this page – it will grow and grow over time! Some of them are highlighted in your learning packs and others are just good fun!

We are all missing you!

The latest email from your teachers

Good morning Year 2,

What a lovely week so far and more sunshine to come today! We have enjoyed talking to your parents and some of you this week. If you haven’t heard from us yet then we will be giving you a call before the end of the week.
Your challenge today is a synonym challenge – a synonym is a word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase, for example shut is a synonym of close.
How many synonyms can you think of for the word ‘big’?
Challenge other people in your house – who can think of the most?
Have a great day,
Love all of the Year 2 team x

Worship ideas

Try to make some time each day to reflect and think about what you have done.
It’s easy for us to think of things we would like from God, but it’s important to spend some time thinking about what we are thankful for too.
It might be someone in your family who helped you, a brother or sister who shared something with you, a delicious meal you ate or the beauty of nature.
Use the template attached, or make your own, to create your own thankfulness prayer.  You could add to it daily, but make sure you keep reading it as a reminder of the many things we have that we should be grateful for.

Task 4: Participate in the live concert on Tuesday 2nd June at 2.30pm from home or in school! Details will be sent out by Young Voices to parents who have signed up here: https://www.youngvoices.co.uk/powerinme

Online Safety

Young Voices have suggested that you can send in recordings of your family singing together but YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PARENTS’ OR LEGAL GUARDIAN’S PERMISSION TO DO THIS. You do not need to do this to join in the concert. If your parents allow you, film in a suitable place such as your garden or living room – not your bedroom; you can dress up but always check with your parents that you are wearing suitable clothes. Stay safe!
